Oh wow. I have been sitting on my hands just WAITING to post these and I’m so, so happy that these two incredible people have shared their news so I can finally share these! On Friday afternoon I headed downtown to spend the afternoon with Greta, David, Liz, and Myles, who traveled in from Massachusetts for… Greta and David’s elopement!

Greta and David have been together for about 15 years now, and spent a year of that living here together in Toronto while Greta completed her Masters. While here they fell head over heels for the city, and decided that this was where they wanted to be when they tied the knot. I love love love Toronto and I’m always excited for an opportunity to wander its beautiful streets with people who are in love, and we spent Friday afternoon riding the TTC and walking the streets while happy people congratulated Greta and David wherever we went.

Our day started at the U of T Multi-Faith Centre, where we met with Mary who performed this lovely, intimate ceremony with Liz and Myles there to witness and celebrate. Greta and Liz carried bouquets that Myles had put together for them from flowers they’d found in a local market. From there we ventured out to Spadina where we chased down an old streetcar, complete with a driver who was so excited to have newlyweds on board, and then transferred to a bus to bring us back over to City Hall. We walked around visiting favourite landmarks while these four happy people smiled and laughed and were just up for anything or everything.

Greta and David, thank you so, so much for having me there to capture this day for you. I loved it, all of it, and I’m so honoured to have been there. You are wonderful and I’m so happy for you both. ♥ Liz and Myles, I’m so happy that they packed the two of you up on this adventure with them, because you were both fantastic and I really enjoyed spending that time with you. ♥

If you’re looking for an officiant in Toronto, I can’t recommend Mary Beaty highly enough. Mary, you were fantastic. What a beautiful ceremony. ♥
